Maki is a married psychological counselor who meets a patient named Ichikawa. He has never recovered from the death of his longtime dog, even after considerable time has passed. Maki tries to counsel and care for him, but he refuses to accept reality and claims that she conspired with a neighbor to poison the animal’s food. When Ichikawa returns days later, he flies into another rage and directs all his resentment at Maki.
