The second animated adaptation of Katsuya Takayanagi's Twisting the Threads uses in-motion technology to recreate the manga's delicate, strikingly realistic world. “On a Rainy Night” follows a despondent man who begins visiting a girls' bar after a hostess invites him inside. A month later he finds the now-unemployed Aine drunk at a daytime bar, listens to her troubles and helps her until the two end up alone in a park restroom. “Summer” is an adult school-role-play story in which a male student and the female class representative clean the pool under the blazing sun. She slips and gets soaked; when he helps her up, they share a spontaneous kiss. She confesses there is something she wants to try, beginning an unforgettable summer together.
