Suzuki possesses the rare power of mind-control hypnosis, an ability confirmed in only a handful of people nationwide and varying greatly in quality from one user to another. Calling himself a supporter of such powers, he takes special pride in the process and despises crude, low-quality brainwashing. One day, he encounters a librarian who has already been subjected to an appallingly sloppy form of mind control. Her eyes are vacant and her movements stiff, like a broken doll. To Suzuki, it looks as though an amateur has carelessly loosened the conceptual screws inside her mind, prompting him to intervene and turn the librarian's intellectual curiosity into a private brainwashing feast of his own.
