In the second summer of her marriage, Mei begins living with her husband and father-in-law. Having grown up without a father after her parents divorced, she comes to love her father-in-law like the dad she never had. Their happy life together falls apart when a bottle sent by his friend reveals his horrifying drinking problem: the normally gentle older man becomes sexually violent when drunk.
