It has been three years since my older brother died. Seven summers ago, he first brought his wife Hibiki home, and the three of us shared watermelon and boiled corn on a sweltering day. She moved out at the end of the year he passed away, but we still meet on his memorial day, and I sometimes visit her apartment to make sure she is all right. Back in the house filled with memories of him, we reminisce about the man she lost as our relationship crosses a forbidden line.
